Ringing

There is a ringing in my head.
I am not sure where it came from or how long it has been there.
I cannot concentrate on what is in front of me.
I can only think about what is to come.

I look around and everything seems irrelevant.
It’s as if I am searching for something more.
I look behind and all I see is darkness.
I look ahead and find a small light.
